Gastronomic experiences

Småland offers a large variety of places to eat, with everything from cosy country cafés to lush manorial settings and trendy city restaurants. You can try Småland specialties that have evolved from traditions over generations or savour newly created compositions at the gourmet level by highly respected chefs. What all Småland food has in common is the inspiration it draws from nature, and the ingredients come directly from some of the thousands of lakes, dense forests and living agriculture that surround the countryside. Krösamos lingonberry jam, Swedish cheesecake and Lake Vättern char with roe sauce and new potatoes – these are dishes close to the heart of Småland residents, but the most "Smålandish" of all undoubtedly is still Isterband sausage. Make the Småland taste experience your own, and allow yourself to be inspired by the combinations that local producers, farms, cafés and restaurants have to offer.
