Sweden’s Museum of Glass and the House of Emigrants

The Småland Museum in Växjö manages treasures from Sweden’s rich history of glass making. The permanent exhibitions are ‘Svenskt glas under sex sekler’ (Swedish glass through six centuries) and ‘Studioglas i förändring’ (Studio glass in transition). The latter exhibits the rise and development of the studio glass movement and studio glass, with glass from contemporary craftsmen.

The museum park also contains the House of Emigrants with exhibitions on the emigration to America in the 19th century. The house incorporates the Swedish Emigrant Institute, which offers help to people tracing relations of ancestors who emigrated.
