Have you heard of Skurugata? It’s a roughly 800-meter-long fault crack outside Eksjö, known as the most peculiar natural phenomenon in southern Sweden. A hike through the gorge is truly a spectacular experience. One of the highlights along the trail is the Skuruhatt viewpoint, where you can enjoy magnificent views over the local area. A hike on Skurugata is a real adventure. You’ll climb over boulders and walk between cliff walls that sometimes reach up to 35 meters high. Hiking through Skurugata takes about an hour, but with so much to see along the way, it’s well worth taking your time. To manage the hike through the gorge, it is recommended to wear sturdy shoes or boots.
