Museum Vandalorum

Between the fields on the outskirts of Värnamo in Småland lies Vandalorum, a museum showcasing some of the most influential contemporary art and design. Just a stone’s throw away, the E4 highway meets National Road 27, linking Sweden together. Stop by to experience our exhibitions and garden, enjoy well-prepared food, and discover great design in our shop. Welcome!

Exhibitions
Vandalorum’s unique buildings, reminiscent of the monumental drying barn that once stood here, were designed based on an original concept by the award-winning Italian architect Renzo Piano. The museum constantly hosts new exhibitions featuring both Swedish and international artists and designers. One of the barns houses the Småland Art Archive, which primarily showcases artists with ties to Småland.

Oudolf’s Garden
Piet Oudolf’s new garden at Vandalorum is his first at a Nordic cultural institution and includes a 3,500 m² perennial meadow. Oudolf is one of the world’s leading garden designers, creating gardens that appeal throughout all seasons.

Studio
At Vandalorum, we encourage exploration, learning, and creativity! The Form Studio always offers an open workshop linked to the exhibitions, and the museum’s website provides current information on guided tours, lectures, the Design School, and much more happening at the museum.

Restaurant
Vandalorum’s award-winning restaurant is a vibrant meeting place in the heart of the art. Seasonal ingredients are carefully prepared, and our bread and pastries come from our own oven. In addition to the daily lunch, a popular à la carte menu is served. All dishes are offered at half price for children.

Shop
Vandalorum’s shop features carefully selected items from many of Sweden’s top artists and designers. Part of this rich collection is also available in the museum’s online store.
