Gislaved Industrial Museum is located in the old Belt Factory, which is almost 100 years old. At the museum, you can explore the rich local industrial history. Did you know that Gislaved was the first place in Sweden to manufacture LEGO bricks, that the town once supplied much of the world with mousetraps, or that the famous tire company Gislaved Tires\/Gislaved Rubber began by making rubber balls, pacifiers, and galoshes?<\/p>\n
The museum showcases fascinating objects and environments from different eras, such as an old photo studio, a watchmaker\u2019s workshop, and vintage offices. Hanging from the ceiling is a parachute that was once produced in the area during World War II. For children, there\u2019s a cozy and playful corner where they can try old telephones, type on vintage typewriters, and guess the use of curious old items.
