Store Mosse National Park is located between Gnosj\u00f6 and V\u00e4rnamo, on the western side of the Sm\u00e5land highlands. It is the largest of its kind south of Lapland and consists of 7,740 hectares of untouched bogland, an area equivalent to 10,840 football fields. The nature at Store Mosse is reminiscent of that of Norrland and is characterized by a great diversity of both animal and plant life, with everything from lakes and marshes to cranes, moose and eagles.<\/p>\n

Here you can hike and discover nature and wildlife on your own by following one of the hiking trails or join guided tours, such as snowshoeing – in the middle of summer! The hiking trails at Store Mosse go over footbridges and vary in length between 500 meters and 14 kilometers. As a birdwatcher, you should choose the route around Lake K\u00e4vsj\u00f6n and take part in its rich birdlife.<\/p>\n

The 500-meter-long fairy tale trail – Skogstrollens stig, is a fun option for families with children. Along the trail you will meet little trolls, goblins, small animals, birds, butterflies, flowers and lichens. For those who want to experience more of what is unique to Store Mosse, with the raised bog and rockeries, Lilla L\u00f6v\u00f6 runt is recommended. Svartg\u00f6lsleden and Wibecksleden are wheelchair accessible.<\/p>\n
