In Sm\u00e5land, there is reason to celebrate: Pippi Longstocking, perhaps Sweden’s most famous adventurous girl, turns 80 this year. In 1945, the first book about the strong girl with red braids, who lives alone in Villa Villekulla with her monkey and horse, was published. The author, Astrid Lindgren, is from Vimmerby in Sm\u00e5land, where you can still visit her childhood home and experience Pippi’s world up close. <\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n
