Kasteel Kalmar heeft een lange en spannende geschiedenis. Zo werd hier in 1397 de Kalmarunie ondertekend en in de 16e eeuw werd het kasteel gemoderniseerd door de koningen uit het Huis Vasa. Hoewel de meeste delen er nog hetzelfde uitzien als in 1592, is er altijd iets nieuws te ontdekken. Je kunt interessante tentoonstellingen bekijken, deelnemen aan rondleidingen en evenementen bijwonen.
