September is a beautiful time to experience Småland and Öland, as late summer slowly turns into autumn. Farm shops and local markets fill up with apples, vegetables and autumn flavours, while the forests invite you to go hiking, forage for mushrooms and enjoy the first signs of the new season.

Forage, cook and eat, right in the middle of Småland’s nature 🌿

The Edible Country is an outdoor food experience where you gather ingredients from the surrounding nature and cook your own meal under the open sky.

In Småland, you’ll find two tables: one deep in the forest at Asa Herrgård and one beneath the oak trees by the coast at Stufvenäs Gästgiveri.

Wild berries, mushrooms, herbs and fish are just some of the ingredients nature can provide. Book a guide or chef, learn what you can forage, then prepare and cook your meal together outdoors.
