Enjoy a meal in the Västervik Archipelago

Hasselö and the neighboring island of Sladö, which is also a nature reserve, are among the most lively islands in the archipelago, with regular boat trips and a hostel open all year round. The archipelago’s boats dock at Hasselö Sand, where you’ll find a general store, a marina, a restaurant, and a place to rent bicycles and sea kayaks.

Restaurant Sjökanten is beautifully situated among boathouses and fishing huts. In the middle of the day you can enjoy an archipelago buffet with smoked salmon, chicken, fish soup and a variety of other nice side dishes. During the summer, three-course dinners are offered several evenings a week.

Idö is an island located just outside the city center of Västervik in the outer archipelago. Previously, there was a pilot station here, and today the island is one of the archipelago’s most popular destinations with a restaurant, marina, café, and shop. Here you have the opportunity to climb the pilots’ old lookout tower where you can enjoy magnificent views of the archipelago.

Idö Skärgårdskrog is famous for its food and is located on the hill above the old pilot station. Here you can enjoy a varied archipelago menu while enjoying fantastic views of the magical landscape of islands.

The Rågö Nature Reserve is an idyllic island off Loftahammar. The island has marked hiking trails that lead you past both sandy and rocky beaches where you can take a refreshing dip. The restaurant on Rågö serves archipelago-inspired hot and cold meals as well as homemade cakes and pastries.

At Långholmens Glassbod you can enjoy magically delicious homemade ice cream. They have different varieties to choose from that vary from day to day. You can of course drink freshly brewed coffee or tea with your ice cream and if you prefer a cold drink, there is soft drink or fruit drink. In addition to the homemade ice cream, grilled sandwiches are also served.
