In the eastern parts of Jönköping, you’ll find a cultural setting in a scenic area within walking distance of the shores of Lake Vättern. Here lies Rosenlund Manor and its rose garden. The manor, dating from the late 18th century, offers a beautiful view over Lake Vättern and is now used for conferences, weddings, and various cultural events.
Next to it is the rose garden, featuring over 550 varieties of roses, and the park also includes ornamental trees, peonies, and perennials. During spring and summer, the area is further enhanced with Mediterranean plants and other seasonal plantings. From May to September, the on-site café, Stallgården, is open, serving homemade pastries and coffee.

Restaurants & Cafés
In the heart of Jönköping, you’ll find a wide selection of restaurants, bars, and cafés, whether you’re looking for lunch, dinner, or a coffee break. One example is Stuk, where you can enjoy everything from artisanal pizza and salads to hearty sandwiches and pastries, including their well-known cinnamon buns.
There are also several restaurants and cafés along Lake Vättern, offering a lovely view to enjoy during your meal.
Surrounded by Water
With its location next to three lakes, Jönköping is constantly surrounded by water. The largest is the deep Lake Vättern, where you’ll find several walking and cycling paths, as well as a sandy beach where you can take a refreshing swim if the temperature allows. You can also rent a kayak to experience the city from the water, and there are restaurants and cafés along the shoreline.
The area around Lake Munksjön has undergone a transformation in recent years, with new housing, restaurants, outdoor gyms, and spaces for art. This is also where the cultural center Spira is located, producing dance, music, and theatre, and it has become a landmark of the city. A popular walking path around the entire lake then leads you back into the city center.
