Bruno Mathsson is one of Sweden’s most famous furniture designers and one of the foremost figures in Swedish furniture design in the 20th century. He taught people to sit correctly and comfortably, preferably in reclining and lounge chairs made of laminated bentwood and woven saddle straps.

Bruno Mathsson was also an architect, which resulted, among other things, in the famous glass houses. Adjacent to Apladalen Park, in central Värnamo, is the Bruno Mathsson Center with an exhibition hall designed by Bruno Mathsson himself.

Here, you can enjoy all of Bruno’s classic furniture, many with well-known names such as Pernilla, Eva, Jetson 66, and Miranda. The building itself, where Bruno’s former office, studio, and outdoor bed are preserved, is also a sight to behold. In 2013, the experimental house that Bruno had built in 1945 was also reconstructed.

January🌨️⛷️
Welcome the New Year with outdoor activities. Go cross-country skiing, visit a moose park, or why not enjoy a meal at a barbecue area?

In January, the weather in Småland and on Öland is typically cold and crisp, with daytime temperatures often between –5 and 3 °C and even colder nights. Snowfall is common, especially in the inland in Småland. The days are short but can still offer clear, bright winter sun.

Saffron 💛 or 👎?
We love to fika (have a pastry and drink coffee), and at this time of year, saffron is the star ingredient. Do you like the flavor?
