A simple fika in a historic setting.
Byarum’s Hembygdsgård is a cultural gem that breathes Småland’s rich cultural history, featuring older timbered buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries.
During the summer months, from mid-June to mid-August, the homestead is open daily between 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Visitors can enjoy homemade cakes, sandwiches, Småland’s signature cheesecake, and waffles in an authentic, old-fashioned setting. On Sundays at 3:00 PM, entertainment is often provided. The on-site craft shop sells local handicrafts, and lotteries offer handmade and home-sewn prizes.
The area is not only a place for fika and relaxation but also a living cultural environment where visitors can experience historical buildings and artifacts and participate in various events and activities organized throughout the year.
The homestead is run on a voluntary basis by Byarum’s Local Heritage Association, with special support from the women’s club, which manages the café during the summer.
