Ostkustleden
The Ostkustleden Trail is a roughly 160 km circular hiking trail in the municipality of Oskarshamn, divided into eight stages of 17 to 21.5 km each. It begins and ends at Lilla Hycklinge, just a few minutes by car west of Oskarshamn, where you’ll find both parking and information boards.
The trail takes you through the diverse nature of Småland – from leafy forests and wetlands to cultural landscapes, fish-rich lakes, and rugged archipelago scenery with views over the Baltic Sea.
Each stage ends at a cabin, open year-round, offering sleeping accommodations, cooking facilities, and dry toilets. Some cabins have wells and electricity, while others require you to boil water from nearby lakes. The full hike usually takes eight days, but shorter sections can of course be chosen.
Ostkustleden is well-marked with yellow-orange paint and offers a safe and accessible hiking experience, with day-length stages, cabins, and swimming opportunities in several lakes along the way.
