Skedemosse – a place with a compelling history

From the 4th century AD to the Viking Age, Skedemosse was an important religious site where offerings were made to the gods. Archaeological excavations have uncovered vast amounts of animal bones, weapons, and even human skeletons sacrificed in the ancient bog. The most remarkable discovery is a collection of beautifully crafted gold rings, which together form Sweden’s largest gold treasure.
