Västanå naturreservat

Experience mystical views and contrasts in nature on the cliffs of Lake Vättern at Västanå Nature Reserve. You can find everything here from pine heath to lush deciduous forest, and if you are lucky, you will see both the lesser spotted flycatcher and the rosefinch. A visit to Västanå Nature Reserve offers high contrasts in nature. On the upper part of the cliff, pines grow directly on the rock, and the lower part is dressed in rich deciduous wood with many of our most valuable hardwood trees. In the north part of the reserve, Röttleån flows in a deep ravine. Following the stream will bring you to the village of Röttle and the great waterfall there. Along the cliffs and back through the forest runs the Västanå Trail, a 7.4 km loop trail.
