Eagle and seal safari
Experience an exciting eagle and seal safari in the Västervik archipelago, where you travel by boat through the beautiful nature of the Tjust outer archipelago and get the chance to see white-tailed eagles and seals up close. In Bergkvara, the tours go along the coast outside Djursvik, where seals often sunbathe on the rocks and white-tailed eagles sometimes soar above the sky. Both destinations offer magnificent nature experiences and close encounters with the wildlife of the Baltic Sea.
Västervik
Just a half-hour boat ride from the center of Västervik awaits the outer archipelago. Eagles and seals rule here. The sea surface is broken by islets and rocks that are excellent resting places for gray seals. You will meet the three-meter-long and 200-300-kilogram-heavy seals and look deep into their gentle, brown eyes. High above the horizon, the white-tailed eagle soars in circles.
Here, the giants of the sea, the grey seal and the white-tailed eagle await you. Idö’s knowledgeable activity guide will take you to their favorite spots. During the period January to August, some islands have a ban on entry to protect the wildlife. Then the guide will take you to other areas, always with the utmost respect for the wildlife.
Bergkvara
