Gold Panning in Ädelfors
In Ädelfors just outside Vetlanda Municipality, gold fever awaits – gold has been mined here for over 280 years. Gold panning is set in a peaceful and beautiful location by the scenic Emån River and has been visited by tens of thousands of people over the years who wanted to fulfill their childhood dream of learning how to pan for and find gold.

There are 50 camping pitches with good services and opportunities for a number of day trips such as cycling and mine visits. Nearby you can also find Wallby Säteri where you can stay in a beautiful area by Lake Skirösjön.
Food & Drink
Simple food is available to purchase in the restaurant on site during opening hours as well as a café serving fika, ice cream and sweets. You can also prepare your own food at one of the grills or fire pits on the premises.
Activities
Catch the gold fever – in Ädelfors gold was found as early as 1737 and this is also the site of Sweden’s first gold mine. Here you can pan for your own gold nuggets with lessons from some of Sweden’s most experienced gold panners who are happy to share tips and advice. In addition to gold panning, there is also a mining museum, fishing and canoe rental.
