Husqvarna Museum is a popular excursion destination. No wonder, because if you are looking for things to do in Jönköping and the surrounding area, this is an experience that appeals to many. The story it tells goes back a long way in time and has a breadth that interests a large audience.

Husqvarna’s history and products

The history begins as early as the 14th century. That’s how long ago it was that weapons were manufactured at the site that is now Husqvarna. Initially, the factory was owned by the Crown and was supposed to supply the king with weapons, but in 1757 the factory became privately owned and was named Husqvarna Rifle Factory.

Since then, Husqvarna has become increasingly associated with other types of products. During the 19th century, the company began manufacturing household products such as sewing machines, stoves, fireplaces, motorcycles and garden machinery, and today Husqvarna is the world’s largest manufacturer of chainsaws, brushcutters, lawnmowers and garden tractors.

At Huskvarnafallet, the building that was a weapons workshop until the 1940s now houses a large collection of the company’s production through the centuries. Period-typical environments are set up in the museum and the exhibitions show both weapons manufacturing and household products and motorcycles from different eras.

The museum is open almost all year round and it is possible to book a guide for groups.
