PM & Vänner

The restaurant that puts Växjö and Småland on the world map when it comes to food and wine. With one star in Guide Michelin and as the first and only restaurant in Sweden to be awarded the Grand Award by Wine Spectator, PM & Vänner is worth making a special trip for.

PM & Vänner actually is a cluster of restaurants, a hotel, bakery and meeting places in the heart of Småland. The restaurant was opened already in 1992 and since then the other establishments have been added. Their own bakery and café, Bröd & Sovel, is one of the best ones in Sweden, according to White Guide. It is the fine dining restaurant that has one star in Guide Michelin and Global Masters Level according to White Guide. But the cosy Bistro with an international flair also ranks high in White Guide. At PM - as they are called in everyday life - Småland is the focus and their philosophy is based on the cornerstones forest, meadow and lake.

PM Hotel

The latest addition at PM is Sweden's first gastro hotel - PM Hotel. The hotel's latest award comes from hotels.com, who devised a formula for the perfect hotel stay based on reviews. PM & Vänner is one out of seven hotels in Sweden approaching perfection. The rooftop bar TAK is one of Växjö's primary go-to spots.

The Wine

When it comes to wine, PM & Vänner is outstanding. Since 2006, they have systematically built up their wine archives with the goal of creating a collection of the world's greatest wines. Now they have a unique, world-class wine collection under constant development with 4200 different wines.

The awards are many - Wine Experience of the Year in Sweden (White Guide for three years) - Best Sommelier in Sweden (Sommelier Ruben Sanz Ramiro for three years). The list goes on, and people travel from all over the world to try PM's wines. One of the greatest achievements this far is the Grand Award 2017 by Wine Spectator - as the first and only in Sweden, and one out of 90 in the world. Its three glasses can be matched to three stars in Guide Michelin, that is to say; worth its own trip.
