World-class tasting experiences
PM & Vänner is actually a group of restaurants, hotels, bakeries and meeting places in the heart of Småland. The restaurant started back in 1992 and since then businesses have been added. The in-house bakery and café Bröd & Sovel is one of the best in Sweden according to the White Guide. It is the “fine restaurant” that has one star and Global Master Class according to the White Guide. But the pleasant Bistro with an international feel is also highly ranked. At PM – as they say in everyday life – they put Småland in focus and the motto is food from the forest, meadow and lake. This permeates all businesses within the group.
The latest addition is Sweden’s first gastro hotel – PM Hotel. The latest award for the hotel comes from hotels.com, which has developed a formula for the perfect hotel stay based on reviews. PM & Vänner is one of seven hotels in Sweden that is approaching perfection. The TAK bar is one of Växjö’s premier watering holes.
When it comes to wine, PM & Vänner is outstanding. Since 2006, they have systematically built up their wine archive with the goal of creating a collection of the world’s great wines. Now there is a world-unique wine collection under constant development with 4200 different wines. The awards are many – Wine experience of the year in Sweden according to the White Guide for three years – Best Sommelier of the year in Sweden – Ruben Sanz Ramiro – for three years. The list is long and you travel far to taste PM’s wines. The crowning glory is of course the Grand Award from Wine Spectator. The first and only in Sweden and one of 90 in the world. Its three glasses can be equated with three stars in the Michelin Guide, i.e. worth a trip of its own.
